Our cats love this post! Its tall enough for them to stretch out and really get into scratching, like they would a tree! Definitely sturdy! Keep in mind, no post that isn’t bolted down will be perfectly stable when large cats are messing with it… but it is solid enough to take full on zoomie attacks. Both cats have launched from a distance and attached themselves to the top of the sisal and bounced off without the post falling over, lol. They really love this thing! The width is perfect for them to grab onto securely.
Fun times! Will buy again when this one is shot. Thank you!

The cats love playing on it, and we’ll jump all over it. It’s super sturdy and easy for them to jump on when running and playing. Nice and tall and fun for them. A great choice if you’re looking for a scratching post.

This is my 2nd and I’m about to buy another. My cats love these and they last a long time. They are a lot sturdier than Walmarts’ or other brands I’ve tried and the rope doesn’t unravel.

Cool update on this one is that the ball detaches/snaps off when pulled which is great for safety reasons! I usually cut them off (cats can get their toes caught in stretchy string and can injure themselves trying to pull away). For this one I don’t have to. Thanks to whoever finally redesigned that feature!

I don’t know whether it’s the size, shape, or material, but cats go for this style scratcher in a Big Way! I bought four, and every cat loves scratching it, some even jump on top of it for a “good kitty” and a treat. It has never tipped once and adult cats use it. Cannot rate for a kitten, but I would think they would climb the heck out if it because kittens love to climb! It would be pretty tall for a kitten. Highly recommend.

There’s another scratching post made by Amazon, a tall square-shaped one that’s more expensive, but SO much better. I got this one because I moved, couldn’t take the other with me, and didn’t have the money yet for a new one. My cats use this one, but they can’t stretch all the way, and the post is also not as sturdy. It’s not coming off, but it leans.

I can’t remember the name of the other one, but I 100% recommend you get that one instead. It still doesn’t have a perch on top (though my smaller cat manages anyway), but the height and sturdiness of it put it WAY ahead of this one. This post is okay, it’s just not great.

If you have trouble with cats clawing furniture, I’d recommend having vertical scratching posts near all the places they scratch. The important thing is to put something they CAN scratch next to the thing you don’t want them touching anymore. If you have to, use a deterrent on the furniture (I use tape along the edges where they were going at it pre-cat tree), and then either rub or spray catnip on the scratching post. My cats were after the couch in my new house, because I hadn’t gotten them a post yet. Once I put a scratching post right next to the couch, all bad scratching stopped. You might have to put a bit more effort into training yours, but I promise it’s worth it!
