My 40 gallon aquarium became a headache to clean and keep it clean, no matter what I did the water was never clear. Once I installed this 3 stages filter, it took 24 running the UV light and 2 days later my water is crystal clear. The installation was super easy. My aquarium has happy fish and no obstructions with bulky filters. It is now a piece of art in my dining room.

First of all i would like to say as water flow and filtration goes i would easily give this product 5 stars. It has a simple yet highly effective flow rate selector. Also the noise level is as loud or quite as you desire just based on how high or low you wouldn’t like to place the return head. To the negative. Bought this filter july 29,2023. As i write this it is oct 19,2023. Now we had just moved into our new home when ordered so it took us a little while to get ready for use with this product. We opened our package some time towards the end of September and plugged it in. Everything worked well except our indicator light for the uv would not turn on, now the manufacturer tells in the instructions to contact them if this issue arises. Well we have. Aka we have tried. It has been nearly a month of trying to contact and clearly we are past the return period of said product. Well I decided to take the cover off this product and found our issue. The protective glass case for the uv light shattered assumingely during shipping. I was hoping the issue was just the bulb (part#uvc-7w for anyone needing a replacement) I understand this review is long winded but as a summary. The product is great, just beware the product. Which means make sure the product is 100% functional within 30 days because if you are trying to deal with this company i salute you

I purchased this for a 20 gallon tank to help with cloudy water from algae as my little Aqueon filter couldn’t hack it. I took it out of the box and whoa, it’s a beast! I thought maybe it was going to be too much filter for the tank, I was wrong, it’s a great size. The canister itself goes together very nicely and both inlet and return connectors are clearly marked and very strong. The hoses are beefy and very stiff, which is the only troubling issue that I’m dealing with. The very simple and small instruction pamphlet suggests to soak the hoses in warm water to make them more pliable. I did this, it worked ok, until the hoses got back to RT. The tube sizes are quite large and the tank lid does not sit flush. I belive I will change to a tank mounted light rather than a top. I’ve found the intake tube to be very long and is sitting at the bottom of the tank, I’m not really a fan of that, but so far it seems alright. Priming… well, the priming pump on the canister is smooth and has decent suction unless there is a lot of air in the canister, and this made priming the tubes quite frustrating. I’m not an expert, fairly new at keeping fish, and I’ve always used a hang on the side filter, so this was a new method of filtration. It took me about 15-20 minutes to get the tubes properly primed and full, how I did it still not sure, but when it happened, outflow was nice and steady. The instructions did not have any suggestions or methods to make it easier, and as a new user of a canister filter, I would have liked to have had that.
I’ll have to make some adjustments with the tubes but that’s a minor inconvenience. This filter is definitely worth the money, you shouldn’t be disappointed.

I had to wait for my preferred brand to ship so I picked this up with next day shipping to help clear up aquariums that were being moved. I was curious how good it might be. Seller descriptions from China are a joke, and this was no exception. The part that really stood out was “quiet brushless motor “, and the exact same motor design as powerhead and most canister filters, hang on filters have been using for over 30 years.
Things I liked: filter stages are easy to load and unload. The filter is mostly made of pretty durable ABS plastic. The hose shutoff valves and release seem to work well. The built in handle pockets make the unit easy to carry for cleaning.
Things I didn’t like: filter stage baskets feel flimsy, I’ll need to be careful. Three of four hose clamp collets were on backward (probably would have still worked fine, just points to QA). Vinyl hose is thin, so crimped from shipping (hot water helps to relax them). The silicone O rings are poorly moulded but seem to be sealing. On/off switch has already failed (broke in the on position, unplugging works fine). Media was a bit random and not placed in the correct order for operation.

Overall it seems decent, but I think still priced high for the quality. I did use a quality silicone lube specifically for seals on all the o rings and other seals and it always helps. If you invest time, money, and yourself into an aquarium I’d say get a known good brand. Need something that does the basics on the cheap this seems adequate.

I bought this filter to use with a 40 gallon tank (for an axolotl). I had never used a canister filter before, & I was planning to complicate things further by putting a chiller inline with the filter. I was worried about ease of setup & also the performance of the pump & the filter itself.

The setup was really easy. The manual is kind of, minimalistic, but it was more than adequate (unfortunately I can’t find the manual & it’s not available online, so if I need it in the future I won’t have it, but that’s on me). It was very straightforward to integrate with the chiller & it worked without leaks or issues.

Since then it has been moving a lot of water & keeping the tank clear.

In general, I really like the product & at the price it was an excellent choice.
