The temperature takes a long time to get a final number. I thick it is not accurate on temperature. Mine showed lower numbers then the pool said and another thermometer. The ph is quick and reliable. The salt number keeps jumping numbers all over the place. Takes a while to get a final reading on salt. They give you a hanging cord but there are no instructions about leaving in the pool so what’s the sense in it.

Finally, this tool reminds the guesswork involved in pool chemical measurements. Just test and treat without hassle. Using to test water chemical composition in my salt water pool. Recommend purchasing this tool if you dislike guessing color matches.

This is simple to use for a pond, but you need to know your variables for your pond to be able to use it. We use it to keep our Koi pond at .1% salinity. There is an accuracy margin that makes this difficult to be 100% certain, but we have pond plants that are a very good indicator too. We also keep it in the water for a couple minutes when there’s a big difference between air temp and pond temp to be sure the temp reading is as accurate as possible. If we do it too fast, we can be off by .02%+. In 8 months, it has maintained its calibration and performed consistently. We make sure to rinse with distilled water and use a paper towel to soak up extra water drops without touching the nodes to ensure no buildup affects the readings. I do not fully submerge it. I have excellent water flow so the full pond volume moves through the waterfall 2-3× per hour though. Not all ponds are equal. This has worked very well for us, but if you have a slow pump, I recommend getting a sample in a cup/bucket on a stick to get a sample from bottom to top and measuring that. I get consistent readings in the waterfall and any spot of my pond. The temp is accurate to my pond thermometer within a minute or two. With winter, the meter is as warm as the house then I put it in 40°F or colder water, it needs a minute or so. In late summer when water and air were about the same still, it was pretty instantaneous. We also do the math on paper when changing water and adding salt back. Dual checks are important to preserve plant life and protect the fish. We might buy a more expensive salinity only someday, but you can be diligent and use this to *verify your results. You shouldn’t ever blindly use a meter with living things. Always calculate by pond volume too. It’s just what you do to be certain. Ther isn’t a simple way to use salt in a pond. But there is a simple way to check on your results!

Easy to use. Seems to be accurate. I will check with local pool shop and update if not accurate

The product is accurate and easy to use. I purchased the tester primarily to get an accurate measure of the salt and pH of our pool. Our local pool products company and the service we used kept giving me different salt readings and the salt system wasn’t working. I hired a different pool service to check the system and they told me the salt was too high over 5000. When I checked the salt with the OPARXI it was reading 4800. We now know that too much salt was added and we will empty some pool water and refill once the temperature is lower.
