Was adopted by a female turtle at the back gate in April this year. Nobody wanted her, so to keep her shouldn’t be that difficult! Right? So I bought bunches of greens, she would even look at them, tomatoes, nope, carrots, nope. So I bought this processed turtle food in a jar. She went crazy for these, especially the red ones, she does not miss any and dives for those that sink. I mix with other processed turtle food and she seems to be doing fine. She cleans up after the golfish too. Still absolutely refuses to eat any real veggies. Guess she was never raised on them before coming to me. She does however destroy any live plant put in her pond, in fact anything placed in pond is usually rearranged swiftly, but she still does not eat them just shreds them and does a fung shway act letting me know who is in charge of her pond!! And the goldfish like them too!!

*Edit to provide more accurate information*: After having and loving my turtle for a few months I have learned a lot due to researching and personal experience. These pellets were definitely a too big for my baby turtle at the time, yet he was still able to consume them after they had softened from the water a bit. As a juvenile (yes he grew that fast) he is able to eat them in one bite as soon as they hit the water! *However… the shrimp and mealworms are not meant to be fed to turtles on a daily basis. They are meant to be a treat, given occasionally. Therefore this blend is actually perfect and should have lasted a lot longer than it did. I am very pleased with the Flukers brand in general. Check out their Eco Clean Waste Remover. A solution I’ve been adding to my turtles tank weekly and I’m amazed at the effect!

*Past review – before I knew anything*
Advice for those with baby turtles… The pellets are a little tricky for them at first, as they are really hard and I can’t even really break them apart, but once they soften from the water the turtle will eat them. Everything else, it took a bit for our baby to grasp shredding the big pieces up, but after a little while… He now begs for this stuff. He loves every bit of it.

I went ahead and ordered a separate bottle of just worms, shrimp, and crickets because this one just doesn’t have enough of it and I like to give our turtle one of each and the pellets as well. Even doing it that way, we still ran out of shrimp and worms way before we did pellets. But I’m still very happy with this brand and will always recommend!

I’m happy with my purchase I just don’t like that at the bottom of the jar it’s just dust. You think it’s just filled with food pieces, but its not a lot is just dust.

I feed this to my alligator snappers and common snappers between live meals because of the increased protein content. Thumbs up!
