The media could not be loaded.

I was looking for a ball the size of their wheel. Couldn’t find one. Have the 11.5 inch ones. Decided to see how a 13 inch would be.

This is her first time in it. The big one is MUCH more clear than the other sizes. (We also have 2 robo hams and they have their own balls).

With her previous ball she figured out how to turn it before smacking something. I’m pretty confident she will figure this one out too.

    I do wish I could find a 12 -12.5 inch one though.

The ball itself seems okay once you gave it together right. You have to really pay attention to every clamp and also the spaces between. The spaces between the clamps can be warped looking until you get it right. So make sure it is right all the way around. If not, I’m guessing their little beans will go through the crack and hurt them pretty bad

I got this for my pet Sherman, a rescue rat, when he was only 4 weeks old. He was only a few inches long at that time. Sherman is now 17 in long and still plays in this ball. It’s a little cramped because he is so big now. He gets plenty of exercise outside of the ball. Yet he still like to go in it and has free choice. I set it snugly outside of one of his playpens and when he wants to go for a roll, he will walk in and out and let me know. Then I grab the top and just attach it and let him roam around the house until he’s done. When he’s done, he travels it back to his playpen entrance. Then I let him out.

The ball is pretty sturdy within reason. The opening takes a bit of savvy to make sure all the parts are fitted together before letting the thing roll. It is easy to clean.

Even though it is 13 in in diameter, it’s a little small for a rat this size. I wish they made 15 or 16-in exercise balls! When Sherman plays in it, his tail seems to warp over to the side a little. It would be better if his tail could be straighter behind him. But since he only ambles around in it for a a couple of minutes, and not fast at all, it serves its purpose.

He also has a 12 in diameter exercise wheel. But this ball allows him to roam around the house and be safe. It’s worth it to see how He gets enrichment exercise and play time.

I like the size for a Syrian teddy bear hamster. BUT BE CAREFUL it has opened on occasion if not locked well. I bought clear , when rolling they do get roughed up in less than a month. Mine merely from rolling over laminate wood floor. So less visibility for him but he still seems happy. Poop does come out in slots ,some stays in. So we do regular “poop patrol” and empty ball every half hour. Yeah it’s gross a bit, I wont lie but what dosent poop? Lol. My advice don’t get colored ball
simply because your poor animal will even have less visibility In time. It’s okay from exercise standpoint . But it does get the Little critters out of the cage, and they will have more fun in this than sitting around with a cage wheel. My teddy also likes to follow you around or chase you in his ball. I’d say overall still worth it for the little guys . Buy another in 6 months or so to allow the animal to see better.

I got it today and my hamster doesn’t seem sure if he likes it yet. It was easy to assemble, it’s very well made and I hoping It will allow my hamster to explore and get more exercise without him getting lost or hurt by my cats. If he loves it I will update this review. 🙂
