  • Ulcers are formed by excessive acid buildup in the stomach. MagnaGard lines the stomach, acting as a buffer and allows ulcers to heal naturally.
  • MagnaGard stops ulcers in their tracks and keeps your horse’s gut healthy and happy.
  • MagnaGard is an excellent source of magnesium and other important trace minerals. Magnesium is a natural calmer and helps reduce stress in horses.
  • MagnaGard is a great source of electrolytes (from the bentonite). That combined with a good salt lick or loose mineral salt will cover you in that area.
  • We suggest to feed 2 scoops daily (2 oz) in either AM or PM. May also be fed 4 hours before event as a calming support and gastric buffer. If your horse won’t eat MagnaGard, try mixing it in their feed and a good amount of water. You can also try adding some flavor (apple sauce or aloe vera juice).

I purchased this product as my horse’s trainer recommended it to see if it helped with her “girtheness” issues.. We also liked the fact that it might help with ulcers. Stormy is 20, and in very good health. She doesn’t have ulcers that we know of, so we are trying it as a preventitive. She is in a barn where they feed grain rather late, and we thought this might be of great help in protecting her stomach from irritation. I mix it in with her other suppliments, for her midday snack. So far, so good. I’m really hoping we see some good results from this product.

My boy was very touchy and girthy. Used this whole bag and absolutely not one bad thing to say. He’s happy now and not touchy or girthy. He did enjoy it mixed with a little water to make it stick to the grain (sat overnight) otherwise he wouldn’t eat it. Great price too. Lasted roughly about 2 months.

I even tried mixing it with apple sauce, molasses anything you could think of and my horse still wouldn’t eat it, but that may be because it’s clay based. If you feed alot of grain it should work the grain will mask it but mine gets enrich so he knew it was there

I have a warmblood filly with ulcers. I treated her with omeprazole for a month, and at the end of the course added on magnagard. She really seems to like the flavor, doesn’t refuse it as long as I put it in her feed before I give it to her and mix it in well (she’s picky). I like putting a smidge of water in the bucket to make sure it really sticks to her food and doesn’t end up in a pile at the bottom of her bucket. She did well on magnagard for a month, so I decided to try to wean it. She tried to kick me for touching her belly after only 2 days off. Restarted it and I’ve got my sweet baby back. Great stuff. I’ve also added it to my other mare’s food because she has a lot of diarrhea and is moody. Seems to have stopped the diarrhea (normal poops now) and also mellowed her out towards her herd mates a bit. Overall I recommend trying this product, but I do recommend a full 28 day course of omeprazole first to treat the ulcers, then start this. I do not think it is strong enough for monotherapy for full blown gastritis with ulcers, but once ulcers are under control, great product for prevention.
